MOTORING enthusiasts from Echuca-Moama and the surrounding district are expected to flock to Jack Eddy Oval next week for the biennial Hot Rod and Custom Car Show and Family Day.

The event, on March 18, is a chance to get up close and personal with some classic hot rods and custom cars.

The hugely popular family day is part of the Rich River Rod and Custom Club’s weekend-long Hot Rod and Custom Car Show.

More than 200 classic cars and motorbikes will be on display at the Show n Shine with entertainment on offer for the whole family.

The show is one of the best known and longest running events of its kind in Victoria and attracts entrants from all over the country.

Rich River Rod and Custom Club president Rod Munro said his club was once again extending an invitation to anyone in the area with a hot rod or pre-1975 custom car or motorbike to join in the fun.

“All owners of hot rods, customs, chrome bumper cars and motorbikes are welcome to come along on the day and enter the Show n Shine for a small fee of $5, with trophies on offer,” Mr Munro said.

“This fabulous family day out is our way of sharing our passion with the wider community and helps create an inclusive event for everyone to enjoy.

“Whether you are a car and motorbike enthusiast or not, there is something for everyone to see and do so bring along your family and friends and enjoy a fun filled day out.’’

Full catering will be available on the day with loads of activities for the kids, including a jumping castle, face painting, and an animal farm and pony rides thanks to Billabong Ranch.

Other attractions include trade stalls and displays, live rock ‘n’ roll music from the Shane Magro Combo and a pin-up vintage fashion competition.

The day will also see the drawing of the raffle for the club’s mini hot rod which won a prize last year at the national show n shine event in Euroa.

Entry to the day, which runs from 10am through to 1.30pm, is only $5 for adults with children under 14 free.

For the chance to win a free family pass, simply jump on to the club’s Facebook page to enter the weekly ticket giveaways.
