AN ECHUCA teenager’s throat was slashed in a vicious glassing at McDonalds carpark early Saturday.

Senior Constable Josh Coombes of Campaspe Criminal Investigation Unit said the 19-year-old suffered serious injuries after being glassed in the side of the neck about 12.15am.

‘‘There was an altercation between two groups of people and it appears a drinking glass was used,’’ he said.

‘‘It was pretty serious.’’

The victim was taken to Echuca hospital, where he was yesterday in a stable condition and undergoing surgery.

Snr Constable Coombes said police had interviewed a 23-year-old Echuca man, who was released pending further inquiries.

‘‘We’re looking to speak to two more males,’’ he said.

He said police were reviewing CCTV footage of the incident, but appealed to the public to come forward.
If anyone saw the glassing or has any information, they can contact Echuca police on 5483 1500 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
