A KYABRAM man who damaged his neighbour’s car after she made a derogatory remark to him has been put on a good behaviour bond.

A KYABRAM man who damaged his neighbour’s car after she made a derogatory remark to him has been put on a good behaviour bond.

Billy Jack Rayner pleaded guilty in Echuca Magistrates Court on Tuesday to wilful damage.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Dave Rennie said on July 22 last year, Rayner was in the front yard of his Rochester home in McKenzie St with a new puppy when his neighbour walked past and said: ‘‘I hope you’re not going to kill this one’’.

Snr Constable Rennie said Rayner started yelling and screaming before smashing the rear window of his neighbour’s car.

The next day he went to Kyabram police station to confess.

Magistrate John Murphy advised Rayner ‘‘you don’t gain anything by doing this’’.

Mr Murphy placed Rayner on a six-month good behaviour bond on the condition he pay $487.60 compensation.
