VISIT Out of the Archives and you’ll be taking a trip back in time.
The exhibition, to be held from April 18 to May 31 at the Discovery Centre, features a collection of photos, postcards, certificates and documents from throughout Echuca-Moama’s history — focused primarily on the Port of Echuca and Murray Esplanade.
The exhibition is run by the national trust, with people volunteering to assemble the historical exhibitions across Australia.
Port of Echuca volunteers Donna Hansen and Marg McMullan helmed our local exhibition.
And they’re bursting with excitement to show what they’ve found.
‘‘We have boxes and boxes of photos at the Discovery Centre,’’ Marg said.
‘‘We’ve been loading photos onto the Victoria collections website for two years now, and we’ve decided to pull pictures out of the boxes we haven’t come to yet and show the public.
‘‘We also found some engineering certificates, plus a lot of postcards with letters written on the back.
‘‘This exhibition will offer an amazing glimpse into Echuca’s past.’’
The opening of the exhibition is on Wednesday, April 18 at 6pm at the Discovery Centre.
