STUDENTS at Twin Rivers put down the pencils and got their hands dirty on Wednesday.
Bunnings Echuca staff members were at the school to teach students the basics of gardening and help them set up garden beds full of fresh vegetables.
School chaplain John Hosking said it was great for children to learn where their food comes from and what it takes to grow it.
“We had students from every year level who were really keen to get involved,” he said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for them to learn about gardening and to get some fresh air and exercise.”
