AN ECHUCA woman is desperately pleading for someone — anyone — to fix the terrible condition of the carpark near the railway footbridge in Echuca.

The woman, who lives in Sturt St and asked to remain anonymous, said she was outraged at the number of pot holes on the Annesley St side of the bridge.

‘‘It is hard for people to walk without falling over,’’ she said.

‘‘It is an absolute disgrace.’’

The woman said the situation had worsened after the recent rainfall.

‘‘There’s mud and slush everywhere, I have to be very careful,’’ she said.

‘‘It’s the worst it has been in a long time.’’

The woman also said she was unsure when it was last maintained but expected it had been quite some time.

VicTrack, who is responsible for the area, said it would inspect this section of path within the next fortnight and complete any repairs needed ‘‘as soon as possible’’.

‘‘VicTrack owns land and buildings across the state, and we regularly carry out maintenance and repairs on these assets as necessary,’’ a VicTrack spokesperson said.

‘‘When issues are brought to our attention, we work to resolve them as quickly as possible.’’
