Find the clowns at the Foundry

June 11, 2018

Bring In The Clowns by Emily Tomkins is a water colour, acrylic and pastel on paper. It is one of many artworks to be exhibited on Thursday.

A CREATIVE fine art exhibition with a twist is coming to the Foundry Arts Space.

Students who have been learning many different crafts over the past 12 months have the chance to showcase their work at the arts space, starting on Thursday.

This exhibition will showcase the creativity and learning of the participants in the Take Art On Tuesdays held at The Foundry Arts Space.

During the past year students have been exposed to and had the chance to explore a range of processes, mediums and techniques.

These have included the likes of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media and other contemporary art practices.

Students have worked through structured, expressive and imaginative classes with comprehensive exposure to visual art and culture, and now they have a fantastic chance to show off their skills.

Each term a new theme is suggested for the creation of their art.

These themes include: ‘Bring in the Clowns’; ‘Catching Fish and Other Water Creatures’; ‘Splash!’; ‘The Built Environment’; ‘Dear Data’; ‘Portraits With Pets’; ‘Alone And In A Crowd’; and, ‘The Horse’.

Come along on Thursday at 5pm to celebrate their achievements and be surprised by the strong body of work that these young talented artists and the adult participants have produced.

Artist and tutor Bronwyn Beer will be exhibiting her visual responses to the themes provided too.

The exhibition runs from Thursday to the following Sunday, June 24.
