THERE were plenty of smiles on the faces of Twin Rivers’ youngest students when they received free tennis racquets on Friday.
Thanks to a Tennis Australia grant, all 32 foundation students received a tennis racquet to encourage them to take up the sport and stay active.
Teacher Brett Mundie said the school was extremely grateful to receive funding for the racquets.
“There were plenty of smiles on the student’s faces,” he said.
“Footy and netball are the dominant sports around this area so it’s great to encourage them all to take up tennis and get active.
“Hopefully it instils a love of being active and they keep it up in the future.”
