A fundraiser for the Echuca-Moama Family History Group, Port Fairy antique dealer and auctioneer Bruce Lowenthal will be available to inspect, value and give his advice about your family heirlooms, pieces from op shops and those mysterious bits and bobs which have turned up over the years.
Bruce will sit down with each person and provide not only written valuations, but also comment on the items, their history and availability. Valuations can be used for insurance purposes too.
The day will held at St Andrew’s Church Hall in Hare St and costs $5 per item or $10 for three.
In the past the group used the money raised to digitally preserve all the cemetery records in the shire.
Now the group is looking to preserve old births, deaths and marriage records as well as old primary school records by creating digital records.
Old records can become lost as the registers they are kept in are becoming more fragile with age.
The day runs from 10am until 4pm with free entry and refreshments provided throughout.
