To do that, you’re going to have to beat the top players Victoria has to offer.
Bowlers from across the region will have the opportunity to do so when they take part in the State Champions Week to be held at Bendigo East Bowling Club starting today.
The event will see national, state and local level bowlers take to the greens across singles, pairs triples and pairs events.
Alongside those events, the multi-disability state championships will also be held.
‘‘It’s a great opportunity to take high-level competition to regional Victoria,’’ Bowls Victoria marketing and communications manager Bronwyn Slatter said.
‘‘We are pleased to present an all-inclusive competition.’’
Robert Wastell of Moama will represent the Bendigo-Campaspe region in the singles, where he will be joined by Leitchville’s Frank Tonn who is part of the Murray-Mallee team.
Leitchville duo Jessica Dehne and Roma Opie will be chasing glory in the female pairs as City of Echuca members Pat Schram and Philip Thorn combine in the mixed pairs.
Jasmine Aburrow will also fly the flag for Leitchville, as she competes in the novice singles, an event for males and females who began bowling competitively after July 1, 2017.
Winners of each event can advance to the national championships.
The competition’s full fixture can be viewed on the Bowls Victoria website.
Entry to the event is free.
