Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp is encouraging all local carer groups to apply for their opportunity to receive extra funding.
Grants of $1000 to $20,000 are available for informal groups of local carers or more formal organisations.
This assists with activities that help improve carers’ physical and mental health by strengthening connections with family, friends and other carers.
Also open for applications are Carer Organisations State-wide Partnership Grants, offering $100,000 to $250,000 that enables partnerships between carer organisations and other groups.
The partnerships will also help deliver large-scale projects for carers with the potential for rollout across the state.
“Being a carer is deeply rewarding, but also very demanding," Mr Gepp said.
"I wholeheartedly encourage local carers groups in Northern Victoria to apply for these new grants and access greater support.”
Grant applications close 5pm on Monday, August 19.
