Developed by the Gannawarra Community Resilience Committee, the $10,000 program hopes to achieve this by supporting community-led initiatives dedicated to social, economic, and environmental issues.
“It is important that as a community we continue to unite and support each other, and it is hoped the Gannawarra Community Resilience Grants Program can contribute to initiatives that assist to keep our communities connected,” mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.
“I encourage not-for-profit community groups to look at the program guidelines, which are available on council’s website, and determine whether any projects, activities or events planned would benefit from a funding application.”
The different projects and events will look at ways to build a connected community, create localised solutions to climate change, initiatives that boost the local economy, activities that promote the five ways to wellbeing – connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give.
