From what started as a hobby she learnt from her mother Robyn and grandmothers, has developed into The Scrunch Company, and gown into something so much more.
Ms Hitchcock said when she came up with the idea, she knew it was something she could grow.
“I found sewing and creating items like this very therapeutic so I thought I could make a business doing something I loved,” she said.
With help from her mum, Ms Hitchcock works hard to keep up with demand.
“We aim to get about 100 scrunchies done a day,” she said.
“Mum and I gave a good system and get it done quickly.”
Since starting the business, the team has added more and more to their product range.
“Mum and I have been able to make not only scrunchies, but we're also selling scrunchie holders, heat packs, masks, lanyards and keyrings,” Ms Hitchcock said.
“We're also hoping to have Christmas gift boxes later in the year.
“You can't really go wrong. I just hope to keep things fresh with new products where I can.”
And while she has only had a website since May this year, she has seen her products fly out the door.
“Since starting the website we've had more than 800 sales. It's so amazing to get so much support,” Ms Hitchcock said.
Ms Hitchcock is thankful for all the businesses who stock her products too.
“I'm so lucky to have my products sold in a handful of beauty salons and other businesses around the twin towns,” she said.
But last year, the 20-year-old wanted to help a cause that was close to her heart in the best way she knew how.
“My aunty was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and had a partial mastectomy. It was a very emotional time for my family,” Ms Hitchcock said.
“That's why I wanted to help her and the many others who are in the same boat.”
Ms Hitchcock said she would be selling pink scrunchies and keyrings with 50 per cent of each product going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
“I've got the scrunchies being sold for $4 and the keyrings for $10,” she said.
“You can find them in store at Noel's Quality Meats in Moama or they are available for local pick-up or delivery around Australia.”
Ms Hitchcock is hoping to raise $1000 for the cause.
