Nagambie has been chosen to host the 2017 Australian Masters Rowing.

This major regatta event is for competitors 27 years of age and older and will take place from tomorrow through till Sunday on Lake Nagambie.

Volunteers are being sought to help organisers with the event at any time from today through to Sunday.

Anyone who can help can phone Eric Waller of Rowing Victoria on 0409314100 or email [email protected] to discuss.

Rowers will come from across Australia and overseas to compete on the world-class eight-lane buoyed course.

Nagambie Rowing Club has had more than 125 years of continuous operation, making it one of the oldest rowing clubs in Victoria.

With the regatta being held on their home course many of Nagambie’s master rowers are raring to compete.

Nagambie Rowing Club master rower Beth Walter said, ‘‘For the first time ever, Nagambie Rowing Club has entered both mens and womens coxed eight crews.’’

A new amenities block has been put in place at the Nagambie Regatta Centre to provide improved facilities and ease of access for the many rowers and visitors expected in Nagambie this weekend. Local businesses will benefit from the influx of visitors for the event.
