WHILE some may visit the twin towns for a holiday, others are here for a shot at glory - just ask Melbourne resident Emily Cooper.

In a field made up largely of locals, Cooper stormed through the field to finish as the fastest women's runner in the Sweat v Steam 5km event in a time of 21 minutes 15 seconds.
After a spur of the moment decision to compete in last year's event, Cooper knew that a second opportunity to run in the event was too good to refuse.
“I had so much fun last year, I knew straight away coming back would be a great opportunity,” she said.
“I prefer regional events to larger runs because there is a lot more freedom in terms of where you can run.
“My family were actually on the paddlesteamer during the race which meant we were all involved at least one way or another.”
Despite being focused on Sunday's race in the lead-up, Cooper said it was important to make the most of her time in the twin towns.
“It's certainly one of the best places to visit,” she said.
“We camped down on the Murray on Saturday night which was really relaxing and it certainly helped with my preparation before the race.”
