A total of 28 teams, consisting of 112 bowlers competed for the Bill Jackson Shield and a chook.
The winning team was from Rich River, who were the only three game winners, which meant they didn’t need to compete for the roll off to the kitty.
They were John Landley, Paul Wallace, George Clarence and Max Kerr (skipper).
They received the Bill Jackson Shield from Stan Limbrick, senior vice-president of the 60 and over group, as president Eddie Smith was unavailable.
Two teams finished the day with two-and-a-half wins meaning they then rolled off to within the yard stick for second place.
The team from Moama including John Ryan, Ken McDonald, Brian Hill and Barry Barbary (skipper) managed to grab second place with five shots near the kitty.
Members of both teams received a chook each.
Next Wednesday 60 and over is at Tongala with 10 am start, not 11am.
Please note the 10am start as the forecast is suggesting it will be hot.
This start time will continue from Wednesday instead of the first week of December.
The venue has changed to what is in the book as a Valley Views green is unplayable at present.
Entries to David Keating on 5859 0173 or Keith Tinning on 5859 0251 or on the sheet at the Tongala Bowls Club.
