On Tuesday, MBC will welcome some of the world's best bowlers for the 11th edition of the Bowls Premier League (BPL) - the club's third major event of the summer.
Eight teams of three players will descend on the twin towns as they aim to win the first BPL of 2020.
“We're really excited to be hosting the event for the first time,” MBC's Apollo Birch said.
“The BPL is the sport's version of Big Bash Cricket because you can expect to see fast paced action throughout the four days of competition.
“The event is free to attend because we want to see as many people in the grandstands as possible.
“There will be plenty of music and entertainment throughout play so we like to think there is something for everyone.
“This form of bowls breaks down what people think the sport actually is.”
And it shouldn't be too difficult for locals to choose who they support, with the Murray Steamers set to take to their home green.
The side is headlined by Moama's Michael Walker who will be joined by Canada's Ryan Bester and New Zealand's Jo Edwards, who will play for the team for the first time.
Meanwhile former Australian representative David Ferguson has been named as the team's coach.
“It's great we're able to have a local team in this competition,” Birch said.
“And to have a local guy like Michael in our group shows the strength of the players in our region.
“Jo's inclusion is a really exciting one when you consider she is considered to be one of the best to have played the game alongside Australia's Karen Murphy.”
Walker, who first bowled at MBC over two decades ago, said he would love to help win the team's first tournament since BPL02.
“Breaking the drought at Moama would be a great result,” Walker said.
“I’m very spoilt to play with two former world champions.
“Ryan is always a fantastic competitor and a great guy away from the greens. And with Jo you always know what you are going to get, she is an extremely reliable teammate.
“And our coach David Ferguson has played for Australia at all different levels so having his wealth of knowledge puts us in a fantastic position.
“I’m privileged to be playing in this event as a member of the Murray Steamers.”
Throughout the competition, there will be two sessions of play.
The first will start at 11am with each team playing three games and all of them will be streamed via the Bowls Australia Facebook page.
While the night session, starting at 5pm, will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and Kayo.
