KAIJA Pedler’s tireless hours of community work were recognised on Friday when she was named Campaspe Shire’s young citizen of the year.
At just 18-years-old, Kaija has contributed more than 300 hours to a range of significant projects through Scouts in the areas of community involvement, adventurous activities, leadership development and personal growth.
This dedication and service to the community recently earned her top honours with a Queens Scout Award.
Chief Commissioner of Scouts Victoria Brendan Watson OAM said he “unequivocally endorsed” Kaija as one of the finest young Victorians.
Kaija has also been involved in community project ‘Knit for Nepal’, hand knitting blankets and clothes for families affected by earthquake and she is also an active participant in a youth steering group.
