Tuesday, October 13
A score +4 was needed to win all three grades during Tuesday’s par event.
In A grade, Ron Miekle was the beneficiary of a countback win over the scintillating Lynch and consistent Edwards.
John, Bob and Col had an old-fashioned shoot out to be the best of the B graders, whilst the emerging Adam Barker impressed in C grade.
In all, 183 golfers played the west course with 38 points, on countback winning a voucher.
A grade: 1st: Ron Meikle (+4 c/b), 2nd: Mark Lynch (+4 c/b), 3rd: Stephen Edwards (+4).
B grade: 1st: John McPhee (+4 c/b), 2nd: Bob Peters (+4), 3rd: Colin Gniel (+3 c/b).
C grade: 1st: Adam Barker (+4), 2nd: Warwick Stiles (+3 c/b), 3rd: Brian Harland (+3 c/b).
Eagles: 6th — Mark Lynch; 17th — Robert Vick. Thursday, October 15
Some sizzling west course 4-ball play was produced by the 100 pairs of golfers, with 40 points on a countback winning a voucher.
Ron and Wayne finished runners-up to the imposing Neil Moresco, who played Batman to Leigh Robins.
John King’s short missed putt on the 18th left him and Trigwell in third place.
In a couple of moments of brilliance Cooper and Andy both holed out for eagles on par 4s.
Overall winners: 1st: Neil Moresco and Leigh Robins (46 c/b), 2nd: Ron Branch and Wayne Sperling (46), 3rd: Shayne Trigwell and John King (45).
Eagle: 11th — Cooper Gentle; 15th — Andrew Beaumont.
Saturday, October 17
Kade Merlo had a day out registering nett 66 in B grade during Saturday’s stroke event, holding off the tenacious duo of Kilgour and Jacobs.
Michael Lizza continued his winning ways in A grade, whilst it was only the stoic Ted Retallick who could stop the barnstorming Angus Baldwin in C grade.
In all, 194 golfers played the west course with nett 74, on a countback, winning a voucher.
A grade: 1st: Michael Lizza (nett 68), 2nd: Graham Mose (nett 69 c/b), 3rd: Greg Cadd (nett 69 c/b).
B grade: 1st: Kade Merlo (nett 66), 2nd: Rob Kilgour (nett 69), 3rd: Andrew Jacobs (nett 70).
C grade: 1st: Ted Retallick (nett 69 c/b), 2nd: Angus Baldwin (nett 69 c/b), 3rd: Darcy Hall (nett 69).
Veterans
Despite early showers on Friday October 2, 88 players braved the elements to play a stableford event on the west course.
The event was also the first round of the inaugural RRGC Vets stableford club championship.
Liz Easter and Rob Kilgour lead the after round one.
The final round will be held Friday, October 30.

Rob Kilgour took out men’s A grade with 38 points, two shots ahead of Joel Watson.
B grade was won by Merv Smith with 37 points ahead of Dieter Zeissner and Bernie Altman on 36.
Liz Easter took out ladies’ A grade with 38 points ahead of Joy Kelly and Noelene King on 37.
B grade was won by Sally Gough with 36 points on a countback from Susan Hutton.
The next event will be Friday October 30.
Please note a change of date for the December Christmas event, now to be held on December 4.

Monday, October 19
In all, 43 entrants played a nine hole stroke competition on the west course with the run down going to 37.
A grade: 1st: Julie Charlton (33), 2nd: Lesley Mitchell (34 c/b), 3rd: Pam Talbot (34).
B grade: 1st: Fran Murphy (35 c/b), 2nd: Mairi Elthringham (35), 3rd: Lynne McGrath (36).
Wednesday, October 21
Perfect conditions resulted in some high scores for a stroke competition on the west course.
It was great to see a field of 119 ladies entered with the run down going to 73 points.
A grade: 1st: Cath Kelly (66 c/b), 2nd: Joy Kelly (66), 3rd: Susan Hull (69).
B grade: 1st: Ruth Turpin (67), 2nd: Chris Kelly (69), 3rd: Ellen Banko (70 c/b).
C grade: 1st: Julie Charlton (70), 2nd: Vicki Kelly (71 c/b), 3rd: Lee Boulton (71).
