Goulburn Valley Playing Area’s midweek pennant season is off and motoring, and in the opening month, the Golfers firm as one of two unbeaten teams at the top of the tree.
Golf welcomed Edna Harling Shield reigning premier Tallygaroopna in round three.
But after the morning’s play, it was the hosts who looked like heirs to the throne by snatching a 14-67 to 2-60 result.
John Hallam’s quartet clutched an eight shot win over Joey Lia in the first rink, and though Mark Ryan’s four bit back 30-23 in the second set of ends, Golf gritted its teeth to make in three on the spin while condemning the Redlegs to a 1-2 record.
Joining the Golfers with an undefeated tag is Shepparton Park.
Away at Seymour, Park dealt to the home side 16-68 to 0-42 with each rink decided by eight shots or more.
Elsewhere, Euroa consolidated its hold on third with a 16-84 to 0-41 thrashing of Tatura-Hill Top while Seymour VRI got off the mark with a 12-63 to 4-61 beating of East Shepparton.
