There’ll be changed conditions on Hume Fwy as the annual V8 Supercars event returns to Winton from Friday, May 24 to Sunday, May 26.
Bowers Road will be closed to all traffic on Saturday and Sunday during the event from 7am to 6pm daily. Traffic management will be in place and the road will be monitored by Victoria Police.
Access to the event will be via the Hume Fwy exit at Winton, then onto Winton-Glenrowan Rd to Winton.
At the conclusion of the event each day, motorists will be directed left out of the venue to head to Benalla or back onto the Hume Freeway. This will be under the control of Victoria Police.
Benalla Council will be implementing a 40km/h speed reduction on Benalla-Winton Rd between Joyce Rd and the racetrack.
It’s likely that there will be a large volume of traffic merging onto Hume Fwy at the conclusion of the event, peaking between 3pm and 6pm each day.
