‘‘The girls are showing some solid passages of play, but we are not putting it together across the four quarters,’’ coach Rebecca Mathieson said.
‘‘Bright had a very defensive side and were quick on attack, so that is something we need to work on in training.’’
In a huge milestone for the club, Alara Jones played her 200th senior game.
‘‘Obviously Alara is someone who has been at the club for a long time. She is loyal and very passionate about the All Blacks,’’ Mathieson said.
‘‘Those are the qualities you like to see come through in the younger girls too.’’
The All Blacks’ B-graders celebrated a strong win against Bright in a 39-34 contest.
‘‘It was nice to get a win on the board for them,’’ Mathieson said.
‘‘Jen Pearson and Ebony Mathison starred once again and kept us in the game.’’
In other results, B-reserve fell short against Bright 24-46, while the All Black C-graders pushed through for a comfortable 37-27 win.
Meanwhile the under-15s failed to get over the top of Bright in their 10-33 loss.
