This week we were reminded again that as much as we get caught up in the competitive nature of the game of football or netball and its highs and lows there are more important things in life than winning or losing a game of football or netball.
We are so proud as a club that we have a community that gets involved with such passion behind fundraising for such an important local cause that is the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre. Thanks to the huge amount of work from an enormous list of volunteers to again raise a substantial amount of money for something that is valuable to our community far and wide.
Cancer unfortunately has not only entered our lives here in our small community but has a wide effect all over the district, so it is very humbling to be part of a club that can see past just what happens on the football ground and the netball court and contribute to the wider community.
Thanks also to the Wodonga Saints FNC for getting involved on the day helping make the day a success. Keep an eye in the press and social media for the final amazing total of money raised.
The result from our footballers was a much better effort than last week to run out 50 point winners, just to top off the day.
Well Done Cats players and supporters.

The Cats came up against the Saints who were in similar form.
The team started well with Ben Waite and Harry Cowie moving the ball efficiently down
to Josh and Ryan, as the game progressed we found our young boys are fitting in to the side with Noodle dominating the wing all day.
Rutherglen’s bigs smashed the ruck contest and the backline was as reliable as ever.
With a couple down on the bench the Cats still managed to keep the pressure on the Saints to win well in the end. Go Cats.

Rutherglen U14 had a good win on the weekend.
Although the scores were one sided, it was a very competitive game played in good spirit.
Award winners were really hard to choose and went to some of our young players who are really starting to step up.
Great game Cats.
