In what ways are we encouraged and blessed by belonging to this community?
Having lived here for nearly five years I believe that we are blessed with a relatively safe community and with many opportunities to be involved in the life of Deniliquin and the region.
We are blessed with many wonderful people who give so much to the community for the benefit of others and who support individuals and families who are in need.
We are encouraged to be the people God created without much prejudice toward race, religion, sexuality or gender, and to seek the goals that we want to achieve in ways that are beneficial to us and over people.
We know that life is not always perfect and the attitudes of everyone are not the same, but on the whole the people of Deniliquin do look out for and respect each other in good times and difficult times.
Under the burden of drought, unemployment, illness and other needs, I pray that we will know there are people and groups/agencies to turn to for support.
The times of need and grief will end, even though it may not seem so when it is happening. God loves us for who we are, His creation, and guides us through the most difficult of times. I offer three suggestions to assist us in life.
Forgive yourself for the times you have misunderstood the actions of others because they think differently to the way you do, or have other values.
Ask God to put within your heart a sincere desire to work for the good of others.
Praise Almighty God who is the creator and heavenly Father of us all, and as members of His one family we rejoice in the rich diversity of our humanity.
