Harley will compete in the Sport Australia Primary School Australian Football Carnival at Mandurah, Western Australia from August 3 to 10.
The 12 year-old became the fourth Deni footballer in the past five years to be selected for a NSW representative footy team, with Tom Bradley and Charlie Hillier picked in the SAPSSA side recently and Duncan Hughes selected in the NSW Under 15s team last year.
Deni Rams fourths coach Tim Hillier, who has coached all four players, said it was another proud moment for the club.
‘‘To have four young players make it to state level in such a short period of time is great for the club,’’ he said.
‘‘We’re all extremely proud of Harley making the squad, he’s definitely earned it.’’
The feat is quite impressive, with the 2019 Murray League season being Harley’s first season of footy.
Hillier said ‘‘you wouldn’t get a better kid’’ to coach than Harley.
‘‘It’s his first year of footy and he just listens and learns so well,’’ he said.
‘‘Teaching him how to play has been quite easy, he just has that natural sporting ability.
‘‘He’s athletic and moves really well. We’ve played him on a half back flank and the wing throughout the season, but because of his height he played in the ruck for Riverina.’’
