No time to relax as Max gets students working out

TWIN Rivers and Echuca Specialist School students were finishing off a year of collaboration by working up a sweat at Aquatic Reserve on Monday.

The event coincided with International Day for People With a Disability, with this year’s theme being ‘empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality’.

Students were put through their paces by Fitmob instructor Max Ogilvie before feasting on a barbecue by Echuca Kiwanis Club members and the One and All Inclusion program.

Echuca Specialist School teacher Lucas Denton said the event was to provide kids with a fun way to end the year.

‘‘This is to showcase what we’ve done over the past couple of months and so it tied in perfectly with International Day for People With a Disability,’’ he said.

‘‘The kids were there in teams as well as individually, doing circuits with medicine balls, steps and agility poles to get the heart rate pumping.’’
