THE second instalment of Sounds for the Soul is on Sunday from 2pm.
It will feature The Bendigo Chorale and include relaxing, uplifting and joyous music.
Founded in 1957, the chorale was originally named Benola Singers.
The four-part community choir has about 30 members with a wide calibre of musical styles mastered.
Its musical director, Elena Varshavskaya, studied and performed in Russia before moving to Australia.
She has brought a fresh and vibrant repertoire and style to the chorale and has challenged members to sing in foreign languages, including Russian and French.
Her vast exposure to different music traditions has tantalised and stretched the imagination and vocal ability of the choir.
The chorale’s accompanist is Yuliya Lenard who also studied in Russia where she performed as an instrumental soloist and as a member of a women’s choir Cantabile.
Sounds of the Soul starts at 2pm at the Echuca-Moama Uniting Church. Tickets are $15 per person at the door.
Proceeds will help Outreach and Mission in the community.
