Time for the Big Cohuna (Festival)

THE 2018 Big Cohuna Festival is here again and with five days of festivities, it’s something you won’t want to miss.

Designed to showcase everything that is Cohuna, the festival offers a vibrant, fun-filled atmosphere where you can enjoy live music, great food and many, many hours of entertainment.

Featuring open farms, home art studios, a market, Gunbower Creek cruises, Melbourne Cup Day celebrations and a grill and chill event.

The event kicks off tonight with the Big Cohuna street food festival from 6pm-9pm and the St Mary’s Arts Alive exhibition from 6.30pm.

Saturday is jam packed with much to do including parkrun at 8am, followed by the Big Cohuna Bower Breakfast 8.30am, St Mary’s arts alive and art workshop, Shayne Mostyn iPhone photography workshop, yoga and cooking wellness session, CFA open house, Cohuna Consolidated School Creekside Fair and duck derby, skate park workshops and competition and a Wetlander Cruise 7pm-9pm.

Sunday will see the popular farmer’s and makers market kick off at 8.am.

Other events include Kerang Vintage Car and Peugeot Car Club display, wetlander breakfast with the bird’s cruise, catch-a-carp competition, Shukura Park farm spring tours (times on Facebook), rock painting activity, kids cupcake cooking class, Wetlander Sunday roast Cruise.

Monday breakfast will be held at the Elm Tree Nursery from 8am-10am and the popular farm yard frolic gets underway. The day ends with the Factory and Field Waffles Grill and Chill Night at 6.30pm.

Festivities finish on Tuesday with the Cohuna Hospital Auxiliary Cup Day luncheon from noon along with Wayde Gillingham’s natural horsemanship demonstration from 9am-10am and Soaring Horizon’s equine meditation and activity sessions.
