Tickets are now on sale for Echuca-Moama Theatre Company’s production of The Addams Family and they’re not expected to last long.
There will be nine shows performed over two weekends when the cast of 26 take to the stage in just over three months’ time.
Director Luke Westley said Addams was one of the company’s most progressed shows, which meant there was plenty of time to polish.
‘‘But also add in big dance numbers and the little things that make this show special,’’ he said.
‘‘We have brought in magicians to teach the magic tricks we’ll use and linguists to help our cast with their accents.
‘‘The set is awesome and will be finished by the end of February and the majority of the costumes in this show will be handmade by our wardrobe manager Jaspa Frankish and her team, including EMTC treasure, Jean Pedretti.
‘‘Ninety-five per cent of this show is completely made and developed in Echuca-Moama.’’
Mr Westley said he could not be prouder of the cast who were working their backsides off — literally and figuratively.
‘‘Not only are they well progressed with the show, the cast have introduced a fitness challenge and we’re all working hard to be as lean and as fit as possible, come opening night,’’ he said.
‘‘We are like one big family and the support and work ethic every member of the cast and crew brings is something truly special to witness.
‘‘It’s easy for a director to talk up their show, but with The Addams Family I really don’t have to try that hard.’’
The Addams Family musical is based on the original story of a night when Wednesday’s new normal boyfriend comes to dinner, along with his parents. It will be performed from May 24 to June 1.
