Narelle Bourke will be playing the nutty Grandma Addams in the Echuca-Moama Theatre Company show, while her daughter Jazmin, 14, stars as a punk ancestor.
It’s the second time the duo have starred together — the first time was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 2016.
The Moama mother-of-four said it was a special experience.
‘‘I get to share my passion with my daughter,’’ she said.
Addams is Narelle’s 16th show with EMTC; joining in 1996 when it performed Me and my Girl.
‘‘I helped back stage at the old Paramount theatre,’’ she said.
‘‘I love all aspects of theatre. The technical aspects from back stage, costume and design, to on stage giving audiences magical experiences.
‘‘And now I’m sharing my love of theatre with my daughter.’’
Narelle, who works in the St Mary’s Primary School library and helps with its school productions, is looking forward to playing the crazy grandmother with a wicked sense of humour.
‘‘Grandma is as nutty as a fruitcake, vague and kind, and looks out for her grandson Pugsley,’’ she said.
‘‘She has been fun to play as she says exactly what’s on her mind.’’
With a recreational interest in the occult, Grandma is a witch, who dwells in potion-making, spells, hexes and even fortune-telling.
‘‘I became involved with this year’s show because l loved watching The Addams Family after school as a kid,’’ she said.
‘‘I really hope our audiences young at heart come along, laugh, reminisce and enjoy the music and antics we get up to.’’
The Addams Family will be held at the Paramount from May 24 to June 1.
