More than 200 locals took advantage of Sunday’s pleasant weather and supported the Tocumwal Big Brunch.
The annual event — which had a change of venue this year from the Tocumwal Foreshore to Tocumwal Racecourse — also served as a fundraiser for drought relief, raising over $800.
The kids took full advantage of the fun and games provided including train rides and face painting.
Local schools, sporting clubs and community groups cooked up a feast for the hungry patrons.
Tocumwal Chamber of Commerce member Liz Lang said despite numbers being lower than usual it was still a successful day.
‘‘Most people who came along were locals,’’ she said.
‘‘With the ordinary weather we had leading up some tourists would have preferred to stay by the river with beautiful sunshine on Sunday.
‘‘We’re still happy with the turnout considering the change in venue, because the foreshore does draw more tourists.
‘‘We’re certainly going to have another event at the race club because it’s just an excellent venue, plenty of shade, lush green grass and clean toilets.’’
Chamber thanked Nathan Haley for entertaining, the Tocumwal Race Club, local pubs for providing raffle prizes, community groups and Tocumwal Farmers’ Market for tables and chairs.
