It will be Sefton’s fourth year in a row in the top job, having coached the side in a playing capacity on two previous occasions in the early 2000s and in 2011.
It will be Farley’s second stint in the top job, previously co-coaching the A grade side with Chantall Barnes in 2006.
Farley and Sefton hope to replicate the success they shared on the court, having won five premierships together for the Rams — one in 1999 as well as the historic four-peat from 2002 to 2005.
Farley (nee Marshall) said her decision to coach was made to stay heavily involved in the club as she questions her playing future.
‘‘I just want to stay involved as I love the club,’’ she said.
‘‘I coached the side years ago so it’s good to be back in that capacity. I’m also excited to have Jodie by my side to help out.’’
The Rams had a strong 2018 Murray League season, making their way to the grand final before going down to minor premier Moama in the decider.
While it was a one-sided affair, Sefton said she’s sure her side is ‘‘knocking on the door’’ of a premiership win.
‘‘We’re so much stronger this year,’’ Sefton said.
‘‘At our attacking end we’ll have Bec (White), Leah Blake and Amy Rodda. They’re all incredibly accurate shooters and a critical part of our line-up.
‘‘Our biggest strength is through the midcourt, with Eleisha Bartlett, Amelia Seignior, Ella Harvey and new recruit Steph Birk all looking to run through the middle.
‘‘We welcome back Eliza Eastman this year after she had her baby. She’ll join Ella Park in our defensive end and will slot straight in with Emily Mildren going away for uni.
‘‘The strength of our midcourt will be the biggest factor for us this year.
‘‘If we’re going to beat the top sides, we’re going to have to beat them in the midcourt.
‘‘This is the strongest A/B squad we’ve had in the history of our club so our goal is to make another grand final and go one better.
‘‘It’s an exciting time for our club,’’ she said.
‘‘We’ve got outstanding juniors coming through the club and we should be near the top in most grades. We’d love to do what Echuca United did a few years ago (a premiership clean sweep in senior grades) and we’re on the right track for that.’’
Other Rams netball coaches for 2019 are as follows: Melissa Way (B grade), Corinne Mitsch (C grade), Alana Raper (C reserve), Meita Leetham (Under 17s), Bec White (U15s), Bec Fitzpatrick (U13s), Felicity Jefferies and Nat Free (U11s), Angela Hussey (Minis) and Ella Harvey and Hayley Free (U13s Blue).
