Brave undermanned Saints

By Southern Riverina News

An undermanned Berrigan A grade side came agonisingly close to their second win of the Picola & District League season, going down to Strathmerton by four goals.

The Saints had four players away, however Bec Ware, Natalie Ferguson and Regan Fox stepped up and helped out.

With that new line up it was difficult getting a flow going but Berrigan’s shooters scored well all game, and the defenders worked hard.

These efforts made Strathmerton work for the win, giving Berrigan the confidence that some small changes will make all the difference.

Final score, Strathmerton 41 to Berrigan 37.

Awards: Thomson’s Service Centre - Natalie Ferguson; Wingate - Emily Ryan.
