Fourths out of finals contention

By Southern Riverina News

Jerilderie’s fourths are unlikely to feature in the Picola & District League finals following a 19 point loss to Katamatite.

The young Demons had a slow start to the day only kicking one point to trail Katamatite by 12 points at quarter time.

Jerilderie fought hard to gather possession and continue pushing the ball forward. Jason Ray and Cruz Nash were both impressive up forward, slotting a goal each.

Lucy Simpson was yet again a force to be reckoned with, showcasing her ability to win the ball for the team. Angus Moloney and Tex Flack both continue to improve each week showing great attack on the ball.

The Dees now sit 10th on the ladder and are one win behind eighth placed Berrigan, but with a small percentage of 26.80, Jerilderie’s season is all but over.

Final score, Katamatite 5.3 (33) to Jerilderie 2.2 (14).

Best: L Simpson, A Moloney, T Flack, L Eldridge, A Aylett, C Nash.

Goals: C Nash 1, J Ray 1.
