Historic club drives on

By Riverine Herald

ECHUCA and District Historic Vehicle Club held its annual general meeting last week.

The main business was the election of the new committee.

Some 90 members attended, which is on par for the club’s usual monthly meetings.

The club boasts more than 230 members and has its headquarters at Rotary Park in Echuca.

At the recent AGM, club president Barry Higgins noted the first meeting of the club was held in a lounge room in 1982.

The large membership base is due in part to the fact the club is a social club, hosting more than 90 activities last year.

Mr Higgins also commended the club on its charitable nature.

The club’s annual swap meet donates $500 from any profit to a local charity and this year the Food Bank was selected.
