RESIDENTS are being encouraged to meet their local paramedics at Echuca ambulance branch’s community open day tomorrow.
The event runs from 11am to 3pm and features a display of historic ambulances, tours of the new station at 215 Ogilvie Ave, face painting and a free sausage sizzle.
People can also register their automated external defibrillators (AEDs), sign up as GoodSAM responders and watch CPR demonstrations in readiness for Restart a Heart Day on October 16.
Senior team manager Joanne Kerr said the event was an exciting way for the community to learn how paramedics worked and how community members could help in a medical emergency.
‘‘Open days such as this also provide the opportunity for community feedback on our service. We want to hear from you and we are continually listening and learning from our communities to improve emergency health services across Victoria,’’ she said.
