Morning for farmers to relax

By Riverine Herald

FARMERS doing it tough are being urged to down tools and take a bit of time out for a cuppa and a piece of cake on Friday from 9-11am at IK Caldwell, Cobb Hwy, Moama.

The morning tea has been organised by Sue Bentley on behalf of the Echuca Farmers Market to support the farming community.

‘‘It is so dry here and there a lot of farmers currently destocking their properties or cutting their crops for hay to make the best of a very ordinary situation,’’ she said.

‘‘Things are tough and people need a reason to get off their farms, take a bit of time out and relax.’’

The morning tea is open to anyone within the farming community and Sue is hoping it will provide a few hours of off-farm relief for our struggling community.
