Daniher disciples do it again

By Riverine Herald

DANIHER’S Drive has been and gone for 2018 and three locals joined the convoy.

Over the four days, from October 11-14, participants travelled through central and western Victoria and the eastern part of South Australia and enjoyed many events along the drive to ensure plenty of fun.

Mathoura’s Allan Watson, Bill Randall and Stuart McCallum joined the convoy for the third time this year.

‘‘We’ve known of Neil Daniher for quite a few years through footy and everything else,’’ Allan said.

‘‘And it’s just a good cause to get involved in. It started at Government house and we went through Daylesford, Mount Gambier and back into Geelong.

‘‘We did around 1900km.

‘‘The organisation was perfect, the accommodation was good and the food was perfect.

‘‘We’ll definitely do it again.’’

Involvement in Daniher’s Drive contributes significantly to the FightMND organisations’ aim and purpose of generating greater awareness of Motor Neurone Disease in the community.

The Daniher’s Drive event raises critically needed funds to commit to research and drug trials to find a cure while also providing assister care equipment to many Australians currently fighting MND.

Raising funds through a cocktail party, sponsorship and through generous donations from friends, Allan, Bill and Stuart were able to raise a massive $16,700 to FightMND.
