ECHUCA Historical Society needs your help – and your old deb gowns – to complete its next exhibition.
After the Ball is Over – Debs & Belles of Echuca and District is scheduled to open on March 1 and run until the end of May at the society’s museum at 1 Dickson St, Echuca.
EHS president Dot Hammond said they have been able to catalogue a lot of photographs and some gowns, they still want more.
“We are again appealing to the community for photographs but especially if you still have your deb dress or a belle of the ball gown and sash,” Dot said.
“If you have, we would love to borrow it,” she said.
“There are some people who have indicated their interest but we have no contact number for them so we are urging them to contact the museum via email on [email protected] or phone Margaret Hart on 0419 506 254.”
Dot said After the Ball as an exhibition would encompass the era c1800s to 2000; with a collection of debutante and belle of the ball gowns, sashes and photographs from Echuca and surrounding districts.
“If you have a gown and can assist the society, please be assured your property will be well cared for,” she added.
