The Pink Tie Dinner is back for its second year.
The smash hit event, which drew almost 100 people last year, will once again feature a relaxing night out on the MV Mary Ann, all to raise vital funds for the McGrath Foundation.
Organiser Kay Blakeley said the inaugural event last year was a runaway success.
‘‘We wanted to have a dinner somewhere and one friend suggested we have it on the Mary Ann for something different,’’ she said.
‘‘The Mary Ann and RSL got right behind it, with the Mary Ann donating $10 for each ticket purchased back to us for the McGrath Foundation.
‘‘We had 98 people there and ended up raising about $1600.
‘‘Along with the other events we held throughout the year, we ended up raising a total of $16,000 last year.’’
Having tragically lost her best friend to cancer 13 years ago, Ms Blakeley said it was a cause close to her heart.
‘‘We just want to keep doing whatever we can to raise more funds and awareness,’’ she said.
The Pink Tie Dinner will be held on Friday, March 1 from 6pm (departing at 6.30pm) to 9.30pm.
Tickets cost $65 and include a sunset cruise on the MV Mary Ann and a delicious two-course dinner, with $10 per ticket donated to the McGrath Foundation.
There will also be raffles and lucky numbers.
The MV Mary Ann is moored at Riverboat Dock off Watson St, Echuca.
