Baking From The Heart volunteers are cooking up a storm to this month’s theme “post-Easter”.
If you have leftover hot cross buns for a bread and butter pudding or some chocolate eggs, it’s time to get creative for this wonderful cause given to the families of those in palliative care.
But don’t be deterred if you’ve finished all your Easter goodies, Echuca Neighbourhood House is more than happy to accept any culinary delights to give to those who need it most.
‘‘We’ve been told those who receive our packaged baked goods are always touched by the generosity,’’ volunteer Ev Holzer said.
‘‘One carer said the package was so beautiful and he was going to share it — but enjoyed it himself instead.
‘‘We receive the baked goods and wrap them up in a package and send them to the hospital who then distribute to those who have requested the packages.
‘‘Anything from cakes, biscuits — we appreciate anything coming in.’’
Visit Echuca Neighbourhood House on Monday from 8.30am-10:30am to donate some delicious treats.
Donations of food for people with all dietary requirements are welcome.
List ingredients and any allergies in your donated goods if necessary.
Perishable items such as cream, cream cheese, jelly and curd cannot be donated.
