Jenna is a one-year-old, desexed, mixed domestic short haired cat who is looking for a place to chill.
She would love nothing more than to sit back, relax and take in the world from the comforts of her soft bed... or maybe a warm lap.
She can sometimes find new surroundings a little overwhelming at first, but after some gentle, tender loving care and encouragement she will soon adjust.
It is recommended that Jenna goes to a family without small children as their quick actions may be a little intimidating for her. She is eagerly awaiting a lovely new home where she will be offered the attention she deserves.
Jenna is one of the many friendly felines available for adoption at the shelter’s ‘free feline’ weekend.
From today until Sunday, the shelter will be opening its doors to anyone looking to add a cat or kitty to their home for free.
‘‘Every cat, or animal for that matter, deserves to go to a warm and loving home,’’ Campaspe Animal Shelter operations manager Kate Kemp said.
With more than 100 kitties of all different shapes, sizes and colours in their care, potential owners will be spoilt for choice.
‘‘We have about five rooms full of cats and kittens that need to go to homes so we can keep the flow of animals going,’’ she said.
People who are interested in adopting are advised to remember although their furry friends are free from the shelter, council fees still apply.
‘‘Normal adoption processes and council registration fees apply, so for those in the Campaspe Shire there is a fee and for anyone outside the shire will need to look into this at home,’’ Kate said.
‘‘If there is anyone in our shire, we are able to organise all of that on the day.’’
The shelter is open from 10am until 5pm today, 9am until 2pm on Saturday and 10am until 2pm on Sunday.
