Echuca-Moama local Brady Johnson was joined by a collective of CVGT team members who were passionate about the work he was doing for the Community Living and Respite’s Opening Doors Project.
‘‘Brady’s our superstar job-seeker turned employee,’’ CVGT employment consultant Hayley Dunne said.
‘‘I’m Brady’s case manager so we support him and we helped him find a job last year.
‘‘We supported him through the process of getting an interview and we have ongoing support for him. We keep in contact with his manager and address any issues at work, not that there’s many,” she said.
‘‘I come from a background in disability and what Brady is doing for the cause is just amazing and that’s why we’re more than happy to help out where we can.’’
CVGT Australia deputy chief executive John Lynch said it was great to see the community come together for Johnno’s Run.
‘‘Brady first came to CVGT’s Disability Employment Services in June last year. He worked closely with our employment consultants to help him address his barriers to employment,’’ he said.
‘‘He applied the same effort to finding employment as he does to his fundraising efforts and it wasn’t long until he found a position with the Moama Bowling Club.
‘‘Brady is a very inspirational young man. He volunteers at aged care homes, umpires the local footy and he is well-known for founding Johnno’s Run,’’ he said.
