THIEVES have ram-raided Echuca Village Fire Station in a stolen truck before taking off with thousands of dollars worth of equipment.
Detective Senior Constable Bernadette Waddington of Campaspe Criminal Investigation Unit said the burglary occurred at the Mitchell Rd building between 4am and 4.30am yesterday.
‘‘They have reversed into the front roller door to get in and stolen a variety of property, including an Engel fridge,’’ she said.
The stolen truck, containing the stolen property, was later found in Bangerang Rd.
Late yesterday, detectives were interviewing a 31-year-old man, who was found with the truck, and 28-year-old woman, both from Shepparton.
‘‘We are investigating links to other similar burglaries around country Victoria,’’ she said.
