The NSW Inspirational Women Online Showcase will feature a range of women sharing videos online about their achievements, with advice for other women and girls.
Member for Murray Austin Evans is calling on the community to have input into the project by submitting a video.
“I encourage our local women to share their stories and participate in the online mentoring campaign and offer encouragement and inspiration to other women,” he said.
“Women from our community come from all walks of life and have valuable insights that can empower young women and girls to develop confidence and reach their full potential.”
The campaign is a direct action from the new NSW Women’s Strategy 2018-2022, a whole-of-government response to improve the economic, social and physical wellbeing of women and girls across NSW.
Minister for Women Tanya Davies said enabling women to build confidence and resilience to pursue careers and opportunities in traditionally male-dominated fields is one of the aims of the new campaign.
“Giving women access to information, support and networks is vital to ensure they see a broad range of career opportunities available to them and can also help make re-entry into the workforce after having a family less overwhelming,” Mrs Davies said.
Women aged 18-years or over are encouraged to submit their videos by 31 January. For information and guidelines go to women.nsw.gov.au/inspirationalwomen
