And Cr Daniel Mackrell made a point of it at the council meeting last month.
‘‘Disappointment abounds that this very important document was pushed aside at the last council meeting as it did not get a seconder,’’ he said.
‘‘I implore the councillors to put in the effort that the public requires us to do.
‘‘For those councillors who took a conscious stand to let fellow councillors stand up and be accountable and speak to the item at the last meeting, well done.
‘‘Personally I am looking forward to the council achieving the objectives in the reviewed Council Plan.’’
In completing the review, council confirmed the plan — incorporating the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan — remains appropriate for the remainder of the term.
The plan is the key strategic document for the term of council. It sets council’s vision, strategic objectives, and actions and measures for achieving the objectives.
The purpose of the review is to ensure the strategic direction, priorities and intent of the plan remains appropriate for the remainder of the term of council.
No changes were made to plan which is available on council’s website.
