A MAN is behind bars over a robbery at an Echuca music store on Sunday.

Timmothy Arendtsz, 25, allegedly entered Sanity in Hare St about 3pm and approached a 21-year-old female shop assistant before making a demand for money.
Detective Sergeant Brendon Murphy of Echuca Criminal Investigation Unit said the Echuca man then went around to the register and stole an amount of money.
‘‘He’s then left there and gone to a Sutton St residence and stolen a Holden station wagon,’’ he said.
‘‘He was seen by police who attempted to stop him.
‘‘He later attended a Garden Crescent address where the vehicle was located and he was arrested.’’
Arendtsz, who was allegedly found with a kitchen knife, was interviewed at Echuca police station before being charged with robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, evade police, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and carrying a controlled weapon.
He was remanded in custody overnight to appear at Bendigo Magistrates Court on Monday where he was further remanded to March 26 at Echuca Magistrates Court.
