The multi-agency process, involving Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic), CFA, Emergency Management Victoria and local governments, addresses bushfire risk on public and private land.
According to FFMVic forest fire planning regional manager Steffen Schultz, communities said the most important things to protect are human life, private property, the natural environment, human health and wellbeing, infrastructure, regional economies and cultural heritage.
‘‘We now need community input into bushfire management strategies to help us strike the right balance,’’ she said. ‘‘This feedback will inform our bushfire management strategies and guide future work such as fuel management, targeted community engagement, and prioritisation of government resources for central Victoria.’’
