A rurally trained medical doctor working in Albury where she is specialising in psychiatry, Dr De Silva has called Deniliquin — and the electorate of Murray — home since migrating from Sri Lanka with her family as a child.
Growing up in the region, she also understands the importance of land and water to local communities and the need to protect it for future generations.
By standing for the Greens, newcomer Dr De Silva hopes to have an open conversation about these crucial issues and strive for a better future for the region.
