RETURNING to the polls after just 14 months in office, Nationals Member for Murray Austin Evans said addressing the politically charged water crisis would be top priority for his party.
The Coleambally local will be battling to hold on to his seat after the 2017 by-election saw him scrape through with just a 3.5 per cent lead.
Reflecting on the past 14 months, Mr Evans said money provided to local councils through the Stronger Country Communities Fund and progress on the Echuca-Moama Bridge were some of his party’s top achievements to date.
And looking to the future, Mr Evans said he would continue to battle for drought-stricken communities, with streamlining planning laws and bolstering support to reclassify the Murray Valley National Park to resume logging also high on the list.
